Club CIA at Mt. Doug - Connection, Involvement and Activity (also known as Success 61)
In consultation with ESL teachers and counsellors, a club of approximately 30 students has been formed to provide specialized support to immigrant students. Our hope is that students will begin to feel more connected to the school and community and empowered to overcome learning and school adjustment issues.
Developing student relationships and making connections within Mt. Douglas and the community is the key focus of this club. Mrs. Phillips meets with the students on an on-going basis to provide optional social activities and also in school meetings to connect with each students. Many students have taken advantage of a Bowling Activity, Pumpkin Carving Event and Pizza Meeting. Several students also attended the Youth for Inclusion and Change Day.
There are many other activities scheduled for the year and social events occur each month. If you would like more information or have any concerns, please contact Mrs. Phillips at [email protected] or call Mt. Douglas school at 250-477-6977
